What you just posted is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that even vaguely resembled a rational thought. That's the only way I can respond to someone who thinks that a QB competition is being drummed up by Jets fans and the CS is giving into it. What's even worse is that the response attempts to make fun by saying somehow Jets fans are guilty of making Geno Smith fail.

Via Todd Bowles words himself, Fitz has a chance to win the starting job. That constitutes a QB competition whether you think it does or not.

Jets fans have nothing to do with Geno Smith's poor play. Geno Smith being in this predicament is 100% his own fault. Fans rant about his poor play and they have every right to do just that. They still root for their team and they care that it is run in such a manner that it will succeed.

Bowles actually did not really say there is a QB competition, he gave complete lip service to it, because Gailey flat out said there was no competition whatsoever. Geno is in this predicament because he had one of the worst possible head coaches in the NFL to play for, but I forget that the blowhard could do no wrong in your eyes so having no weapons, no coaching, an offensive system from 1930 married to a WC passing offense that is no fit for Geno, is all 100% on Geno.

I do not think ANYTHING is being drummed up by the Geno haters, as there is no competition for the QB spot. The friggin offense is not the Buffalo offense and it is being specifically developed for Geno like it or not.

All I known is the oline may stay on with Fitz here and there, but Marshall, Decker, Mangold, and Brick better be on a short preseason leash. Some players we can't risk over a fan made QB battle.

I hope your right, but I have a feeling we are going to see a good bit of them . They are installing a new O. A new language. Whole new playbook. Reps under fire will be precious. It will be interesting to see how Bowles/Gailey are going to handle this

Its easy Geno probably starts. If he craps the bed, then Fitz starts. If he struggles, Petty gets his feet wet the last few games and we start all over next year. Our defense could be great which Geno has never had the benefit of. Geno will have the best offensive weapons since entering the NFL. Geno will have theoretically a better CS. I hope he succeeds. I know the chances are not great, but all the pieces are there.

How about $50 I am betting you that says Geno Smith will ultimately fail as the QB in NY. He will ultimately be relieved of his duties as soon as humanly possible.

This should be easy for you. After all, the bad, old Rex Ryan is gone now. Now, you have your savior Chan Gailey coaching this team and he's going to make a superstar out of Geno, right?

I am actually not a Geno fan, but I think that the coaching staff is behind him, and I do not think he has had a real opportunity to develop, and unlike some here I think Geno will perform better than Fitz who is not very good at all and does not lead his teams to wins. It's been widely speculated Smith might enter the season on a short leash after the Jets traded for Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason. I agree. I have said many times I have little faith Geno is our long term answer but he will not be cut in season.
