I openly admit I might be acting homerish, but it's a pretty lame definitioin of "hit the guy late" when all Breno did was knock down a guy hovering over his teammate, with the acceleration he'd already built up to that point (ie he didn't seek the guy out and purposely try to start something).

We'll DEFINITELY agree to disagree with what Coples did. If you want to say it's against the rules, fine. But that was the ONLY way he was getting Luck down from the angle he approached him (again, no intent to injure). He didn't grab the helmet or the horsecollar -- he just used his massive strength to get Luck down.

The LAST thing I want is my team letting up on plays because they're afraid the ref might call something. That will result is negatives WAY more harmful than 15 yard penalties, which is why I had no problem with either of those fouls, and hopefully Bowles didn't either . . .

coples i see your point on. it was the only way he could take down the QB. that said, it is a penalty and if it happened to the jets QB and no flag was thrown, people here would be furious. that's how i judge if it's a legitimate call.

breno's was stupid. it may have been a ticky-tac call, but it will get called. the play was over and he wasn't "defending" his teammate. he hit a guy late, and while the guy probably flopped to draw a penalty, it seemed to work. refs will call you on that and you need to be smarter.

they didn't hurt us this week, but those type of dumb penalties (not so much coples being "dumb") can cost you a game. glad the penalties overall are down. but they need to be smarter on some of these things

Breno deserved his penalty. If he was in defense of a teammate, I'm glad he did what he did, but it earned 15.

Coples, I thought it could go either way. It was high, but he ended up grabbing jersey, didn't really appear to make much, if any, contact with the head, and kept it as clean as possible from that angle. I just want to know if that call is made regardless of who the QB is.

It's not so much a question of if it will be called, as do you want Coples pulling up there because it's the only way he was getting enough of Luck to bring him down.

As I said, I can deal with those penalties because they are a result of hustle, not stupidity . . .

I think Goodell and Vincent are a little gun-shy now, following the Brady debacle, which might work in our favor.

At least thats what I'm hoping.

The drive after the Indy TD was great, but I was not impressed at all with Fitz' play tonight. He really needs to play much better for us to continue winning. He is so limited that I think defenses might adjust and he will really struggle. He was terrible outside of 20 yards and made a few really bad decisions that he got away with. I think we are seeing scheme and talent more than ability from Fitz. He sort of is what I thought he was, which seems enough for some people but I do not think he is really playing well, and is so limited at being able to make plays.

However, our coaching seems exceptional and we are improving week to week, so hopefully the offense continues to grow under him in the coming weeks.

I saw Ryan Fitz in training camp right after Geno got injured and he was very rusty and couldn't make all the throws. Now I see a guy who can make all the throws and has unbelievable composure under pressure. I expect the Jets to be 4-0 at the Bye.

breno hit a guy late, after the play had ended. coples sacked luck by grabbing his neck and helmet. if that happened to a jets QB, people here would be furious if not penalty was called. taking off the jets-green glasses, both were personal fouls we would hope would be called if the sides were reversed. you may say you applaud a player for protecting his teammate, but it's a penalty nevertheless.

the 3rd was an unsportsman like conduct against davis after we recovered the gore fumble. i didn't see what happened to opine on it. but that pushed us back to the 10 (instead of a touchback) and led to a 3 and out and a crappy quigley punt. fortunately we intercepted luck the next drive after they started at midfield.

One was on skrine tackling A. Johnson to rough out of boundsalthough Johnson outweighs Skrine by 40 lbs and is at least a half foot taller.

There's no reason to think he'd be the "make or break" player against either of our next two opponents.

Awesome game. Our d is nuts, and this is without Sheldon. The whole secondary was good. Game plan was a little conservative, but that's nitpicking.

not much of a better statement you can make than going into an elite quarterback's house and blowing the doors off the place!

overall a great game... but i expect more of our offense. they couldn't sustain a drive at all, and a lot of that had to do with the offensive line's inability to make room for ivory to do his thing. the defense really started to get tired in the second half. those guys needed some help from the offense when the colts had a ten minute drive, and instead the O goes three and out. they also did very little to capitalize on the turnovers that our defense was able to create.

in the end we won the game and that's what counts, but again i think we need to expect a little more of the offense. can't wait for sunday- we should be able to take advantage of philly- they're a disaster right now.

I do not see it but I am rooting for Fitz and hopefully he plays well enough for us to continue winning. Our schedule looks pretty manageable, especially if we beat Philly. I did like that Brandon and Fitz were both angry at the offensive performance last night because it was pretty bad. 5 turnovers is an awesome shiit offense deodorant.

This was my " only " gripe
We ( yes I have that mouse in my pocket ) played way to conservative with that 10 point lead . When the Colts finally scored to make it 10-7 I thought we were doomed. Boy was I wrong.
44 years of Jets football ingrained in my body and soul is tough.
