For a lower pick than #6 ...so it doesnt really matter. I think we're going to just draft defensive linemen the next 20 years in a row and suck forever...that's why we're the Jets!

weren't you saying you wouldn't mind a trade down? what's the difference if we do it before or after we picked williams (if this does happen)?

Jets used the entire clock and couldn't work out a deal and grabbed BPA. Too bad to lose a hometown talent for a likely step down in Williams.

Sucks to use a top 10 pick to likely get worse long term.

Getting the guy pretty much unanimously thought to be BEST football player in the draft with pick number SIX can't be questioned IMHO.

I'll leave it to Todd Bowles and our DC to come up with the scheme to fit him into a D that works and that terrorizes opposing QBs

How much do you go on need over BPA? When a BPA drops into your lap, do you keep passing on him?

i'm still kind of hoping for a trade (preferably not mo), but i always advocate going BPA, so i can't really complain on taking the guy many had as the best player in the draft.

if they don't make any trades, obviously they ranked williams higher than white (and others). stay true to your board.

This is NOT a bad pick. He was widely considered the best player in the draft. Like I posted last night, the Jets pick turned out to be what GOOD problem do you want to have? OT, WR, and of course DT were those areas where the Jets were already looking pretty good.

Now, it makes me wonder if Wilkerson becomes trade bait, but I would personally love Bowles playing almost strictly 4-3 utilizing Sheldon, MO, and Williams.

This pick makes us great at the point of attack. The Jets were not going to get run on very much anyway and this pick pretty much insures it.

Going forward, I will love to see the Jets blitzing. Who in the hell can you double team now?
