When I watch Williams, I see a guy who's gonna make it.

Richardson's days are numbered. He screwed up big time, and now he has a rookie threatening to take his job. If that doesn't light a fire under your ass, I don't know what would. He has lost a TON of leverage since he went bonehead this off season

If Richardson cleans up his off-field problems he will be with the Jets every year they have him under contract.

Its hard not to be excited about Williams, he looks like a very special player. I still can't believe he was there for us at 6!

He looked great Friday night, but if Mo doesn't return to form Williams will be doubled and I'm not sure he is ready to handle that. The two sacks he basically was unblocked so they weren't that impressive. He is going to be great with Mo and/or Sheldon back in there though.

LOL me either, thats still inexplicable too me, and stuff like that especially never happens for the Jets.

We discussed the possibility of it happening prior to the draft, discussed it in this forum, somebody started a thread about it, basically asking what the Jets should do if THE BIG CAT falls to 6, and I said if he falls to 6 we have to take him, no questions asked, even if it means switching from a base 3-4 to a base 4-3, this is the kind of impact player you change your defense for if you have too, but I concluded its a moot conversation because its never gonna happen. Oops!

Lets hope you are wrong about our season with Fitz as well. I think you could be although much better chance that you may be right.

Gotta love Snacks for doing this! I think that would be hilarious if it sticks should he become a monster & household name this season...

Harrison has a special nickname for Leonard Williams, whom some call Big Cat.

I call him the Little Kitty,” Harrison said. “He doesn’t like it. He’s a rookie. What can he do? He has to learn to like it, because he has another year before I stop calling him that.”

I'm really surprised at the lack of respect being shown to Mike MacCagnan. Really no mention whatsoever about the forethought that must've gone into this by MacCagnan. I really believe it is going unnoticed.

Many NFL personnel talk about taking the BPA. They talk about it all the time, but hardly any have the discipline to follow through. MacCagnan followed through and that in itself is something to be respected. This pick raised a lot of eyebrows at the time because the Jets were already so well stocked at the defensive line.

I believe he also KNEW what kind of players he had on his team. He knew Sheldon was a moron and he likely knew what he had to do.

The Jets probably already knew that Sheldon had failed 3 pot tests in 2 years. Hard to be looking to far down the road with the guy. I still agree with your point that Mac had a great draft

Mods, can you please merge this with the Leonard Williams injury thread, so we don't have people using two separate Williams threads.

Thanks
