I'm clear now. Cobb may be exactly what you say but damn he played well for GB at 24 yrs old. That can't all be Rodgers can it?
Don't listen to the hype. Cobb is a top tier receiver. Yes Aaron Rodgers is good but people seem to look past some of those catches he made and the footwork after the catch to extend plays. He and Torrey Smith are 2 different types of receivers so the comparison is limited. In my opinion, deciding who would be a better fit comes down to who our QB will be. Can we trust Geno to make those accurate deep throws to Torrey Smith? Hmm...

Brian Orakpo - LB - Redskins
The Jaguars are "very interested" in free agent Brian Orakpo.
The Jaguars have already been linked to top free agents Devin McCourty and DeMarco Murray, so add another one to the list. Jacksonville has the cap space to take on several big contracts, and if that means anything, they're going to land at least one top flight free agent. Orakpo could be that player, though the Jags won't be alone in their pursuit. The Falcons have expressed interest in Orakpo while the Redskins haven't given up on re-signing the three-time Pro Bowler.

E.J. Manuel - QB - Bills
Speaking on NFL Network, free agent C.J. Spiller says E.J. Manuel is too "buddy-buddy" with his teammates and needs to be more assertive.
Spiller noted the stark contrast between Manuel's easygoing approach and the style of veteran Kyle Orton, "who demands what he wants out of us." Buffalo struggled with Manuel under center and nearly made the playoffs with Orton, so it's obvious which approach resonated more with teammates. For Manuel to succeed in this league, he'll need to start showing some leadership.

Cary Williams - DB - Free Agent
Eagles released CB Cary Williams.
Williams recovered nicely after a rocky start, recording both of his interceptions in the second half of 2014. Despite his late-season resurgence, the Eagles decided Williams wasn't worth the $6.5 million left on his contract. Cutting Williams opens the door for Philadelphia to sign a top-tier cornerback like Byron Maxwell in free agency. Despite recent bouts of inconsistency, the 30-year-old Williams shouldn't have too much trouble finding a new team.

Will Hankerson re-up with Washington?

When the Washington Redskins selected Leonard Hankerson in the third round of the 2011 draft, the club hoped he would turn into a genuine outside threat. However, injuries have plagued him throughout most of his career -- he was active for just two games last season -- and he never really came through when he was on the field.

He is slated to become an unrestricted free agent a week from now, but will he end up re-signing with Washington?

"I’d be in favor of re-signing Hankerson with the intention of giving him one more shot to prove he can 1) stay healthy and 2) help the team. Given his injury history, I’m not convinced he can stay healthy," wrote Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com. "But I do recall his productive 2012 campaign (16 games, 38 catches, 543 yards, 3 touchdowns), so I’m also not ready to give up on the former third round pick, particularly since the Redskins have spent four years developing him."

Specifically, El-Bashir thinks they should ink Hankerson to an incentive-laden, non-guaranteed deal for the veteran's minimum. While that would help mitigate the risks of keeping Hankerson, his health issues may be too much for the franchise to overlook when considering his future with the team:

John Keim
Redskins free-agent analysis: Leonard Hankerson
"Reason he might not [re-sign]: Because durability is a major issue with him and there were definitely times last summer and throughout the season that coach Jay Gruden was frustrated with the number of players constantly nursing injuries. Hankerson's injuries have been big ones so it's not as if he is sidelined by a lot of nagging issues. Still, he's not available all that much. It's also a good draft for receivers. Also, other teams are keeping their eye on him. At this point, Hankerson is nothing more than a No. 4 receiver who does not help on special teams."

Jay Cutler - QB - Bears
"At least ten" former members of the Lovie Smith and Marc Trestman coaching staffs told ESPN Chicago the Bears "can't consistently compete for championships" with Jay Cutler as the quarterback.
Two Bears teammates also said they consider Cutler "a divisive figure with whom they'd rather not continue to play." Beat writer Michael C. Wright still expects the Bears to give Cutler "one last shot," something his contract almost requires they do. It's no secret Cutler essentially sabotaged Trestman's offense, refusing to operate within the confines of the system. When asked about his willingness to adhere to any offensive structure, several ex-Bears coaches used the terms "renegade" and "rogue" to describe Cutler's play.

DeMarco Murray - RB - Cowboys
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, free agent DeMarco Murray will re-sign with the Cowboys if their contract offer is "equal or similar" to what he receives on the open market.
So basically, if Dallas matches Murray's best offer, the Cowboys would win the tiebreaker. He's also leaving room for a slight hometown discount. Murray has said he would like to play for a winner. That won't be guaranteed if he signs with Jacksonville or Tennessee, two teams with enough cap space to offer Murray a massive contract. The Colts, last year's AFC runner-up, could be a dark horse in the Murray sweepstakes.

Cole Beasley - WR - Cowboys
Cowboys agreed to terms with WR Cole Beasley on a four-year, $13.6M contract.
The Cowboys likely could have retained Beasley on a second-round restricted free agent tender. Instead, they decided to make a longer-term commitment with a $4M signing bonus as part of $7M guaranteed. The grossly undersized Beasley emerged as a reliable slot option late last year, averaging 3.5 catches per day over the final eight games (including playoffs). He'll continue to fill a Jeremy Kerley kind of role for Dallas, who used their franchise tag on Dez Bryant Monday and also has No. 2 man Terrance Williams under contract.

Byron Maxwell - DB - Seahawks
Free agent Byron Maxwell has changed agents.
With the move coming so close to the start of free agency, it's raising eyebrows in league circles. "Why would you do that?" an anonymous GM rhetorically asked ESPN's Adam Schefter. "It makes navigating the free-agent market confusing." The move is certainly unusual, but we'd be shocked if it cost Maxwell any money. He's this year's top-available corner by a comfortable margin. Teams aren't going to care who his agent is.

Ndamukong Suh - DL - Lions
The Detroit Free Press reports free agent Ndamukong Suh wants to be the league's highest-paid defender by both average annual salary and guaranteed money.
J.J. Watt is the man to beat on both fronts. Watt's six-year, $100 million deal comes out to $16.6 million annually, and includes $51.8 million guaranteed. They're staggering numbers, but Suh has a legit shot at passing them. Many of the league's most-desperate teams, such as Jacksonville and Oakland, find themselves flush with cap space. Suh is their best shot at a signature signing.

Andre Johnson’s agent says he never asked for a trade

The sad reality for many Texans fans is that the best player in franchise history is leaving, and as is so often the case, not necessarily on good terms.

Which means now’s the time for the writing of the history, and Andre Johnson’s agent made it clear none of this was really Johnson’s idea.

Agent Kennard McGuire told Sports Radio 610 in Houston that the idea of a trade was broached by the Texans, only after the team told the veteran wide receiver they wanted him to take a reduced role (which normally comes with a reduced rate of compensation).

“Andre did not, in the last couple of days, go in and ask for a trade,” McGuire said. “Certain things were expressed to [Andre] in which he didn’t agree with. And at that point in time permission was thusly granted to seek an opportunity elsewhere. That was not something that we asked for. That was something that was presented to us.

“The contractual matters never did come up. The only thing that was discussed was the role and that was in fact that there would be a reduced role.”

While it’s extremely unlikely that anyone would trade anything for Johnson and jump on the hook for his $10.5 million in salary this year, there will certainly be a market for him once he’s cut.

And it’s a terrible look for the Texans, who effectively asked Johnson to take a pay cut, even if those words never came out of their mouths.

While he might not be the same dominant receiver he once was, the idea that he can’t play a significant role doesn’t square with what he’s shown in recent years, especially considering the less-than-ideal quarterback situations he’s been in.

Keep this in mind; NY Jets linebacker search in free agency could end with Brooks Reed, a player GM Mike Maccagnan is very familiar with

Sounds kind of like lazy reporting - Brooks Reed, a 2nd rd pick that struggled to ever get any PT, could end up a Jet because he played on the Texans...

That's like saying Dorian Boose should be a Dolphins target after Bill left...if he couldn't get any PT in Houston because he wasn't good enough to play, why would Mac want him here? Bring one of your failures from Houston to NYC! Makes sense to me...

I would also hope the OLB search doesn't "end with brooks Reed," that sounds like a "start with" name to me...

Interesting that Maxwell changed agents with FA near. Usually a sign of a player chasing biggest pay day possible.

Rex must know that Spiller is leaving then. Chip Kelly is getting rid of all of Andy Reid's top players(Jackson went last year). Rex also may be looking to make a run at Harris if he hits the open market on tuesday.

Rex may also know David Harris is coming there, giving them LB flexibility. Could go both ways.
