It sounds like the Titans are open to trading the 2nd pick. They had Williams DT & Gregory OLB on top of their board, until the phone started to ring for several teams having a "woody" for Mariota.

Without starting a new thread I'd be curious if given the choice would you rather have Winston, Marcus or other. I'd take a shot at Marcus with Ray as my second choice.

Mostly agree, but the inclusion of Fitzpatrick is striking. You see him as having upside? I think most see him as a journeyman at this stage. Is it the Gailey factor?

yes it is the gailey factor and the fact next years draft is a better QB class so a journeyman that can play well within the system and knows it already is a huge plus for me.

A 1 or 2 year stop gap is fine with me

What good would that do?

If the Jets improve at all they will be in the 8-8 area, hopefully better.

If Cardale Jones, Christian Hackenberg, and Connor Cook are as good as you seem to think they are, they will be long gone when the Jets pick. And the Jets will be bridesmaids again.

This is a weak QB draft because only 2 QB's appear like they have a chance to be special. If the Jets have any shot at either of them, they must take it.

Might be another 40 something years before they get another chance

If these guys are as good as you are hoping, not many teams in the top 10 are going to surrender a potential franchise QB. Unless you sell the farm. Same problem as the Jets face right now.

Accept they are in a lot better position this year to get a potential franchise QB

He'll be a very rare pro style QB that comes out in the draft. Big, tall, strong athletic pocket passer with a rocket arm. I like him a lot. What he did his freshman year blew my doors off, especially since he did a lot of it at 17 years old. The kid has so much talent. I'll never forget how he lit up Michigan on national TV in our homecoming game (my daughter went to the game). I couldn't believe how good he was on that big stage. He's going to be special.

He is something. He was running for his life this year. So his numbers went down a little. But he is gonna be good. Gonna try to see him live next season. The girlfriend is an alumni so she has been dying to take me.
