I dont know Fitz personally so I cant comment on what type a person he is like you Scotch. But I can comment on how he has played in years past to today! When with the Bills & Gailey they had 1 great season & gave Fitz & big Contract & then? INT's-Losing & Offense fell apart & Gailey Fitz were fired! Hmm, sound familiar? Fire Gailey & give Fitz & Geno the Bench & put in Mikeys 2nd round super star QB Mackenburg who played pro-style in college that gives him a big advantage over the 4 current rookie QB's who is playing & winning.

I agree with that. At least he is young. Fitz has no upside and never has.

Fitz/Geno forget wasting time on! Petty just back from injury cant start. So that leaves 2nd round pick Mackenburg who the reason for Drafting was he knows & played a pro style Offense! So Mackenburg has a bigger advantage over the current 4 rookie QB's that started this season & all have done well, even 4th round Dak of Dallas! So lets see Mackenburg for 10 games & I dont want to hear BS that he isnt ready when 4 rookies who never played in a Pro Style in College are in & doin g fine! If Jets dont start Mackenburg its because of the REAL reason...he is a 6th round pick or a BUST like the Entire NFL Teams & Scouts have said. I think Mikey Mac is covering Mackenburg draft mistake if he doesnt play him. So lets see him play

As was I but I think they are still thinking maybe they can salvage the season... Unrealistic in my opinion.... Also I am pretty sure this a 2-4 game audition for Geno.. Petty takes over after the bye week unless some miracle happens and Smith balls out like Brady style

Exactly and that is the silver lining that everyone is missing about the one year deal. Fitz bet on himself and it's very clear at this point that he's already lost. He'll be lucky to get the league minimum in free agency next year from some other team than the Jets.

actually there is a $5 Million dead loss under next seasons' cap for Fitz... yes he won't be here but in the financial aspect he is still on the books...

thing I don't understand when I see it is the comments that say Geno deserves the opportunity. Someone please explain to me what he has done that makes him so deserving? He had his chance to play regularly. He has been a bad teammate and petulant child on the sidelines. I would love to see a good reason for him being deserving of starting.

IMO Geno was thrown into the fire before he was ready. He has had some time to learn behind experience and more importantly maybe find a little humility. The jets owe it to themselves and us as fans to give him a chance to prove if he has grown in all aspects. If after a time (for those that know more than us to determine) he is the same Geno, see ya, don't let the door hit u in the ass on the way out.

I must say I was wrong about Ryan Fitzpatrick the man. But I was not wrong to say I don't like him as a QB. He just bugs me as a player LOL

At least now with Geno we give him one more chance. If he becomes a star on another team at least we can say we gave him every chance before letting him fly away.

I think we can all say or at least most of us that we are looking forward to petty getting his chance as soon as it is right, But lets get an OL that plays together first.

There's a saying that "you root for the laundry," and I hope that Geno plays well. However, I have never disliked a player so much on any team of which I am a fan. To me, he is such an ass. We all know the numerous incidents, but his infantile temper tantrum on the sideline was the last straw for me. I have never seen a player in any sport show up a teammate like that in public. I'm sure that other teams for whom I have rooted have had their jerks behind the scenes, but Gino is a jerk in public. Even Bowles' "praise" echoed what I'm feeling. To paraphrase, "Well they don't hate him." How's that for an endorsement? Sickening.

at the earliest Petty could be starting the Cleveland game... some say a couple games but Petty has a real knowledge of the offense just need first team reps and have to wonder if they will give him any... guess its all on how Geno plays vs Baltimore...

what I mean is, if Ryan Fitzpatrick is still getting 1st team reps with Geno Smith the starter... the logical answer would be no, give them to Petty because Fitz is literally done with our team... but one never knows...

I'm very interested in this guy Mackenburg you speak of , love to see him play sometime.

However, I have never disliked a player so much on any team of which I am a fan. To me, he is such an ass. but Gino is a jerk in public. .

Alas this is not our Geno or he would be of Italian decent and thus I would be happy to see hm play this Sunday.
