I have to apologize to some people I just watched obama 2016 documentary and he had me fooled.

In 2008 you had McCain, who has never seen a war he didn't want to get involved in, the country would be mired in all kinds of BS from Iran to Iraq, Syria and Libya if he had taken office. Not to mention the fact he had a completely mentally unstable loon as a running mate. Next time up you get a guy who was caught on camera basically saying that a large portion of the populace has no meaning to him and don't matter.
If the Republicans want to sway middle of the road voters, they need to present choices that would be reasonable to those people.
It seems now that any Republican who even looks slightly moderate, will fail in the primaries after being attacked by special interest groups within the party. This is why idiots like Santorum get votes and Huntsman fail.
The Democratic Party has the same issues but not nearly as severe.

Keeping people in jail is profitable to the companies who run them. They contribute to political campaigns, and in turn you get congress voting for stupid mandatory sentencing and three strikes laws that send some poor SOBS away for 15 years for a minor drug offence.
