YES it is. And it basically demonstrates what everyone thought anyway......

The Jets do not want to carry 4 QB's. They are giving every opportunity they can to Bryce Petty so he can possibly win the 2nd string job. They WANT Petty to win the job. They want to put this 2nd string QB controversy to bed once and for all. They want to cut Geno, keep 3 QB's, and avoid hamstringing the team in other areas if they are forced to carry 4.

Jets practice recap: Not a good day for Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was intercepted on two long sideline throws (Buster Skrine, Calvin Pryor). Geno Smith and Bryce Petty threw long touchdowns to Chandler Worthy and Jace Amaro, respectively. No team drills for Matt Forte and Mo Wilkerson. Good pressure on the edge from Freddie Bishop. Rookie Juston Burris beat deep in coverage.

Bowles hasn't changed a thing he's said about smith from the beginning.

Before Fitz was signed when asked he say, "Geno Smith is the starting QB.............Right now"

When asked the other day about is there a QB competition Bowles said "Geno smith is the back up..............Right now"

Bowles says Forte doing individual/positional drills today just part of his rehab process. He'll still spend some days inside/off the field.
