i will do this later after company leaves good thread and lets see who is the closest i will lock it couple days before the draft...............put your rep out there do you dare to lock in your jets picks?
way too early for those shenanigans. When you discover the players at team facilities the week before the draft, you can generally nail it down to 4-5 prospects.
Calvin Pryor was a name that bubbled up the day before the draft for us, but I remember the year we drafted Coples, Chandler Jones was the guy the Jets brought in twice the week before the draft but somehow we didnt take him. I definitely thought that hot air was more than just that.
Sanchez was an obvious pick the year we took him. Everyone knew we were making a run at him.
I think the week before the draft names start getting penciled in to their picks, and then there's always a few curve balls in there. From bowles interview today, I think we're locked in to OLB. I really do. I also think the Jets already knows what the rest of the world doesn't...Winston is going
#1 and Mariota is going
#2 , period. Jets already know they're not in the QB running, IMO.
I think that was the case with Beckham last year, Phil Taylor the year he came out (luckily), Freeney the year he came out, etc, etc. I've seen a lot of times when coaches and GMs are asked about player A or B that is hot on that teams name in mock drafts...I remember Rex rolling his eyes and saying I dont expect to get a chance to draft him...even though all mocks have them falling to us, then a guy everyone pencils to us goes
#1 2 and never sniffs
#2 4 where we were picking...I think that's where Mariota is. Mocks have him at
#6 , Jets are in the real world when it comes to the NFL, they know
#6 is a pipe dream, IMO, even if people doing mocks havent figured it out yet.
