we saved money with ferguson's retirement & in all likelihood upgraded..

somebody has to be our LT next season scotch, regardless of who our QB will be..

First part we must see. Second part is I agree......but we could have gone with the draft for the future......the choice was theirs we shall see win now or in the future or can they do both.....not always east to lock & load

That's not how macc operates. There's no guarantee a good LT would be available when we pick. That means we'd have to reach with one of our picks. No matter who our qb is, you could get him killed, that's not helpful. Besides, if we get Conklin in the first round, he can compete in camp and if Clady loses we can cut or trade him. Worst case scenario, we have a good LT and wasted 3 mil as insurance.

Simple as of now Fitz is not back.....I got to look at the facts. Not saying he will or won't be back but he is not back.......
Snacks stopped the middle stone cold!

Lets see what happens

Your right, Fitz is not back. Of course that is a problem.

The trade for Clady free's up cap space for Denver to get it's deal done with SF. If that happens, I think it will, it closes one of the few open windows for Fitz. Can't guarantee it, but IMO once that happens Fitz and the Jets will reach reasonable terms.

If Fitz still won't move, the Jets have other reasonable options. If I'm the Jets I give Fitz until the draft to accept the offer, which according to Cimini, has been upped to in the area of 9 M. If nothing is done by the draft I give Tampa Bay a second for Glennon.

I know a lot of fans are going to go crazy trading another draft pick, but how I look at it is, most fans are screaming that the Jets should draft another QB in the 1st or 2nd.

Who in the 2nd of this year's draft has more upside, or has actually played fairly well in the NFL on a bad team? Hackenberg? Mercy.

Jets are still in an improved position unless something goes side ways.

IMO, being in a bad situation cap wise, and with Bricks retirement, Macc has done a great job improving the team so far this off season.

Honestly, what would get me tickled, is a beast on the right side of the line. Considering Fitz is back, I'd love to see a great run blocker making room for forte. Combine last year's offense with a consistent threat to run or catch, and we could be dominant.

Don't forget about Qvale.

He competed for a starting job at both RT and RG in camp last season. IMO he played pretty well, had a few brain farts in pass protection in a couple of pre-season games and I think they decided to go with the vets.

I suspect he was given a "things to do " list in the off season. If he steps up a bit, that problem could be solved. Guy to keep an eye on in OTA's and mini camp to see where he's getting his reps.

It was not giving up a pick for a guy that was going to be cut. Not for a guy that missed 30 of the last 48 games. I would not have done that. Teams were not going to be lining up for this guy.

I would've addressed it in the draft, or in free agency

You DO NOT address needs in the draft. You address needs with FAs and go into the draft looking for BPA.

Obviously that is how he operated LOL & there is never a guarantee in life. But in my case I just need to see more that's all.

Macc is completely new to us. Idzik preached one thing and did another. I think it's clear from the Clady trade and Fitz negotiations, that macc will not trade the farm for anyone, he knows how to mix different talents into one team, and he's not going to accept being handcuffed in the draft.

I agree on Fitz he has no where to go so it looks like it should be done......but you never know until it is. Is Fitz the right guy I guess at this point he is if we are trying to win now. But we still need to see the pieces for this plan come together.

I am still amazed at some Jet fans that get excited when Marshall said he likes the deal. What is he the does Equis Guy or a nut case? I hope he does not leave us "staying thirsty" lol

Revis I will listen too most of the others I won't as of today.

I love the "Mercey" Is that what Geno yelled last year

You got to see the games first before you say he knows how to mix different talents. Fitz is not signed so it is a little early to put big mac in the hall. Think about it he gets a hospital LT & a reject Qb plus a nutcase for a WR. maybe it works & I say he should go in the hall of fame next year.

Brick & Snacks are forced out they are good guys.....I am not saying I was against the moves But in this case the good died young. We kept the drug guys, hospital ward, nuts & rejects.

One big advantage is they should all be hungry to win......That is a plus. That will be in my final report.

In the First Round the New York jets will skip on Joe Namath. They will draft joe Kiowski Center from Yale.......I am glad the old jets did not think that way.

The Colts will not pick luck in the first round as they will pick an G based on BPA

LOL

Marshal is in fact a nut case. Honestly I don't care what Revis says. Just play like it was 2010.

Just to set the story straight smith yelled "Moma!!!!!!"

That's like saying I like Benito Mussolini over Adolph Hitler. Because we have the worst GM in football two years ago does not make the next guy Steve Keim. Lets see him win a few games first.....last year he had a pocket full of cash & an easy sced. lets see if he can do it now.....I hope so.

Maccagnan has been outstanding in his short tenure here. I haven't questioned any of his moves with the exception of this latest FA visit. Kyle Williams, a WR/PR who fumbled twice in the NFC Championship game in 2011 while with the 49ers, is in visiting. I don't like guys who crumble in big games. But that WAS five years ago, so maybe he's gotten over that problem.

Still, we've got Dri Archer and this Ross guy as potential PR/KR types. I like that we're addressing those areas.

For those who think he's too old. Linemen don't decline as quickly as players at other positions. We're only into this spot for a 5th rounder.
