If Devin Smith misses the entire three day mini camp, IMO its disappointing.
This is a ROOKIE we're talking about here, and he's blowing off an entire mini camp????
I understand he's having a baby and I get that he wants to be there, but I'm OLD SCHOOL, I'm from an era when men realized their job is how they feed their children and provide nice things for their families, like a nice house to live in and all of the things that kid will need to have a good life, a more privileged life than the one Devin had, so your first priority is THAT JOB, because THAT JOB is how you intend to make a better life for that baby.
I see Sheldon blowing off the OTA's because he wants to spend time with his family, and a ROOKIE blowing off a three day mini camp because he's having a baby, and I don't think these guys realize or appreciate the degree to which THAT JOB is the reason why your family is living large.
I think Devin should have went to work and said call me on my cell the moment she goes into labor, at which point I would then ask for a short leave to fly home, see my baby, then get right back to work.
