He did. Too bad they couldn't hit for him. The good news is that this is his 5th straight solid outing -- should help his value in a potential trade scenario.
It's so hard to watch this team...bottom of the 9th, no runs(again). No way I am staying up for extra innings.

Legares-awesome fielder, but man he has no pop at all and not hitting for average.
Cuddyer-stupid signing from the start.

Yup - definitely was not worth watching those last two innings - or the first nine either for that matter. Typical Mets perfromance. Bad defense -- inability to turn double play extends the top half of the inning, leading to runs. They actually lucked out in the top of the inning with some bad baserunning by the Cubs or it could have been worse.
Speaking of bad baserunning, how about Lagares on 2nd and not advancing to 3rd on a grounder to the 1st basemen earlier in the game, next at bat, Lester uncorks a wild pitch. Cost us a run. And how can you forget the botched suicide squeeze.
But, wow, some of these at bats are beyond pitiful. Top of the 11th, Duda takes a strike 2 right down the middle then chases a pitch up out of the strike zone for strike 3. Then Plawecki, with the tying runs on base takes 3 strikes. The guy sees 5 pitches with a chance to tie the game and does not take a single swing. These at bats are horrible. How often do we see guys take two strikes and chase the 3rd to get themselves out.
And tomorrow we get Kershaw. Odds on a no hitter might be even money in Vegas for that one. Over under on baserunners allowed. I would set it at 4.5 (and that might be too high).

Mets scored a run. Naturally, deGrom was the guy that got the offense going with a double, knocked in by Granderson. I really thought they might have been done with scoring for the season.
