Leave it to us to spoil a perfect season by losing to one of the worst teams.

Gotta love that only 1 of 23 of what is probably one of the most fatalistic fan bases in sports has this team with a losing record after being one of the least effective teams in all of football in 2014

One of the beauties of sports is that statistical anomalies is the norm. That means that even the Jags can go 16-0. If there is anyone here who can positively know what the results will be, then get your a$$es to Vegas and make a fortune.

Agree 100%.....There is no way to factor in Injuries to key players and don't forget the annual Revis holdout(lol)!!! Devestating injuries to either Brick, Mangold, Revis could easily swing my 10-6 projection to 6-10.

No serious injuries.... then 10-6 or 11-5......Go Jets!!

Way to early need to wait till after pre-season. If revis or mangold gets hurt we have a new ballgame. Need to see who makes the roster after pre-season to fully evaluate.

How about 17 TDs and 8 INTs, 63.1% completions, 95.3 passer rating? That's better than the TD/INT ratio you cited, and a top-10 QB in passer rating.

Those are Fitzpatrick's numbers from last year. And his best seasons came under Gailey.

I think this team is perfect for a smart, mature veteran like Fitz. He has lowered his int's in each of the last 3 seasons, and if healthy the team is capable of 10+ wins this season.

Well, with a player like Fitz, the key will be pass protection. He's as fragile as Bradford and the Jets had the 25th rated oline last season when it came to pass protection. The Jets need a guy who can move a little when Breno gets beat like a rug. Hopefully the Jets can slide protection to the right side which I still expect to be our Achilles heal until we obtain a new RT.

The talent at WR we had last season and the fact that Geno couldn't handle pressure had lots to do with teams blitzing so much. No team was blitzed more. I saw many times where Geno had time to make a throw. The OL is a question mark going in but the Achilles heel is the QB position. I can't tell you if our RT is any better or worse than the guy on the Lions, or Steelers, or Cowboys, or Seaatle, or any of the playoff teams, but I know their QB play was better.

I agree. He will be a good game manager. Smart guy, get the system to not put too much on his shoulders, and have a young QB grooming in the wings. It is a great short-term and long-term QB scenario.

Beningo plays into the mentality of the over-the-top Jets-hating, woe-is-me Same Ol' Jets Fans. He knows there is a large contingent of Jets "fans" out there who still act like Leon Hess owns the team, there is no GM, they suck at every draft, and Richie Kotite just got hired. Those people are angry, relatively stupid, and extremely vocal.

They're perfect for sports talk radio, and they equal ratings. So he plays up to them.

There really is no place for the more down-to-earth, rational Jets fans whose IQs reach the triple digits.

This is far more likely than not, no matter how much some dislike Geno.

It makes no sense for both Simms and Heaps to be on the roster, and not Smith.
