QB problem Solved? Not this way

As small as this forum is, it does call for great discussion.

One of the funniest encounters is how Elias & i met:

I was at a Beer garden in Astoria (studio square) this past spring and was downing a couple with a friend when i saw some 20 year old with a B.Marsh T-Shirt. Called him over and we started talking about our squad. After chatting it up, he went his way. After a good 10 minutes i see the same guy walking with a friend approaching me....

His friend came straight up to me (thinking he was gonna stab me) and said,

"Are you NYJETSDAN16?" I said "yeah?", He then says, "i'am Elias, founder of JFU"

I then asked him how in the world did he know it was me and he then proceeds and says:

"When my friend came back from getting a pitcher, he told me he met a crazy Jets fan who thinks we're going 12-4 this year. At that point, i placed two and two together and knew it could only be one person in this world who would ever be so positive and purely a lunatic to ever conceive that way of thinking."



Guys, this board is Magic!

yep, how awesome is that? I knew it was you because everything my friend was saying I read a few minutes earlier on the board. Haha

& yes, i'm a huge fan of JFU as well.. definitely my favorite jet forum of all time & that happened for me very quickly..

but like any other forum, we have our occasional dust ups.. i certainly don't see it being out of hand.. hell, things get far more nasty at the larger jet sites.. honestly, JFU is quite tame in comparison..

i'm not sure how much (or little for that matter) the JI/scout lines will blur as time goes on but honestly it's really isn't a big deal one way or the other to me.. i love the hell out of this place regardless..

What amazes me about so many is that they could never understand how Sooth wanted the board to be run???? So long as you didn't personally attack another poster, you were alright. You could post most anything within reason. If it was criticism of the players, it was fair game.

Also so many posters could never understand that the IGNORE function is there for everyone to use. If they truly do not like what a poster is saying then PUT HIM ON IGNORE, rather than going and crying, sulking, pissing, and moaning to moderators. It's truly the pussy way out.

But really that's what made JI so great for a long time. The moderators, for the most part, would not pander to posters that had their panties in a bunch over what someone else posted about a player...........

a lot of sites do get nastier, I'd say most due. Reason this place doesn't get too bad is because of the posters on here.

Hardly. We just tried to keep the disputes civil and football-based. We didn't always succeed in doing that.

J13, Sack is a good dude, I think we should support his efforts to keep it civil here at JFU, it will create a better environment for all of us. I know you a long time, long enough to know that you are one of the nicest guys who posts in these forums. Sack is only a threat to the punks who like to cause trouble.

Calling people "pussies" for wanting civility around here certainly doesn't help the effort to make this place better. We can all disagree about the level to which we respond angrily to each other. If people want to get all fired up and fly off the handle because someone disagrees about an on-going thread (which turns into three more threads on the subject)... I guess... knock yourself out. But the quality of this forum depends a lot on HOW people post their thoughts.
