Well, being that Jetfrantik seems to know everything including poor Geno Smith was systematically made into a thug by big, bad Rex Ryan, perhaps a wager is in order?

All of these poorly treated and neglected players that Rex Ryan had now have the shining star of Bethlehem on their side in Todd Bowles. He'll treat them to cookies and milk and they'll all become great boy scouts, right?

That's actually incorrect, Respectfully.
Coach said they chose to cut Flynn and Johnson and keep pretty as the only backup on the field, because they were pleasantly surprised by petty's improvement.
They said that they thought petty's lack of experience and knowledge of the system balanced out the other guys advantage in experience but compete lack of knowledge of the play book.

So I'm saying who knows what this staff does this year. But I'm guessing geno is gone next year and Fitz and petty will be here.

I think it's very possible this season, but beyond this season he's done anyway. Really, the CS just needs to appear as though they did their due diligence with Geno Smith. He's had two years of failure already but that was with the last CS. This CS needs to give him a chance. They will sooner rather than later.

When he fails it will give the CS all the justification they need to cut/trade him.

The thing about Geno's response that stood out to me is his continued sense of entitlement. He truly believes he is entitled to be the starting QB and seems to resent having the defend that. It's exactly what you don't want to see from a QB not named Favre, who backed up that attitude with incredible talent and moxie, of which Geno has shown neither. Of course he also hasn't shown his junk in a text message, which, I suppose, is one positive in his favor.

I had hopes for the guy based on where we were able to draft him, but in my book, he's already joined the ranks of many other prospects that didn't work out. All that's left is to replace him with another backup, probably not until next season though.

That's how I see it, too. I don't think Petty has the complete confidence of the CS to let it rip in a real game. It would be a predictable run-heavy offense. That's not a criticism of Bryce, it's just a reality IMO. He's a project who COULD be a solution in a few years.

I'm not a fan of Geno's behavior, but while he's a Jet I'll root for him if he's in there. I don't really care about being right or wrong about the guy. If he's playing, I want him to succeed because he wears the Green and White. I don't see much value in thrashing the guy while he's still here.
