No way Fitz even comes close to the year he had last year, if he played with the 2014 roster .

This article doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Geno Smith is horrible in the pocket. He's terrible against a man def
Its always good to have a little substance for the argument, though. One of the things that is continually brought out in the article is that Gailey's system is designed to mitigate the sort of issues that Geno Smith has. I'm not in any arguing that Smith be the QB over Fitz, just presenting an article that tries to look at things from a statistical standpoint and put those stats in context to the disaster our roster was in 2014. Too many arguments around here are from the gut and nothing else - just saying.

I don't want to be an extremist, I think geno had better physical skills, but Fitz is smarter and more experienced. Can geno have a great statistical season?yes. What about the several sections where he outlines where Geno was better, in some cases much better, than he expected? You ignore them because they don't fit with your narrative.

But the important factor to me, in my opinion, is that in the playoffs against elite defenses, they will own geno. I think Fitz has enough mental game ability to play cat and mouse with those defenses.

I disagree. Compare both when they have played elite defenses. There is nothing to support that because Fitz has never been to the playoffs. Based on what I have seen from Geno and Fitz over their careers, Fitz has way more experience but less physical tools probably. I still want Fitz back at a reasonable price.

Listen if all you care about is stats fine. Please read my statement. In my opinion, Fitz has and can play cat and mouse. Geno has not shown that ever, in fact the line on him is that he states down his receivers. The opposite of cat and mouse.I know Geno sucks, but I would love to see some stats to support that Fitz is good vs elite defenses or is he just better than Geno.

Of course borderline hall of fame receivers made his numbers better, this is a team sport. Randy Moss made bradys numbers better too. But having good wrs doesn't affect who you are mentally. It doesn't change the fact that Fitz has the ability to play coy successfully.Well wins and losses do matter otherwise I can just go with Geno and suck as opposed to being average with Fitz. I agree with your assessment of Geno but I just think Fitz was great last year because he had so many weapons and Geno has never had one weapon. I think those WR's made Fitz better not the other way around.

Just good players running good plays isn't enough against the elite defenses. The small things make the difference.

this is by far the biggest issue i have with smith supporters.. everything is always based on conjecture.. forget any & everything that was wrong with smith on & off the field.. forget all that stuff, this is a brand new day!! can smith play better with the current talent available?? it's possible.. but i could say the same for petty or hackenberg getting the job done in gailey's system with our offensive weapons too..I don't want to be an extremist, I think geno had better physical skills, but Fitz is smarter and more experienced.
