Why trade a 2nd round pick when he has "Zero" trade value? Cut Cumberland and save $2 mil, develop Amaro, keep Enunwa at the H-Back.
Amaro has got to realize that he's a FA after 2017.... 2 seasons to prove he's worth something.
If a guy 6'5"/ 265 lbs with 34" arms who put up 225lbs. /28 times can't learn to block then he is a waste!!
I have no idea what Amaro's trade value will be in the off-season, but I strongly suspect there is something seriously wrong between Amaro and Bowles. During OTA's and mini camp, he practiced on the 2nd practice field where the bubble players and scrubs were practicing.
Cimini reported afew weeks ago that Amaro has not been in the building since his injury. This is very unusual. Sudfield has been in the building almost every day.
From Rotoworld:
(Seemed to start out the year well enough)
Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
A potential spread offense is expected to benefit Jets TE Jace Amaro.
New offensive coordinator Chan Gailey is an expert at getting his playmakers in space via spread formations. So it's a no-brainer to expect Amaro to take a leap forward in this scheme. He's essentially an oversized possession wideout at 6'5/265 and Gailey will be desperate for difference-makers -- especially if Percy Harvin is cut loose. Amaro is firmly on the TE2 radar heading into his second NFL season.

Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
Jace Amaro dropped six passes on 52 targets last year, the second-highest percentage in the NFL.
Only Lamar Miller had a worse drop rate. Amaro's head was spinning as he went from Texas Tech's spread offense to Marty Mornhinweg's West Coast system and he finished with just 38-345-2. Now he has to learn another system, but Chan Gailey's spread scheme fits Amaro's skill set much better. As the clear-cut starter and a playmaker who needs to be detached from the line, there's TE2 appeal here. A higher comfort level should result in fewer drops for Amaro.

ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini believes second-year TE Jace Amaro "could make a nice leap forward" in new OC Chan Gailey's offense.
Cimini confirms Gailey is going to run spread, and Amaro played in a spread at Texas Tech before struggling in Marty Mornhinweg's West Coast offense last year. We don't anticipate Amaro jumping into the top-ten fantasy tight ends as a sophomore, but he certainly could become a viable matchup-based streamer. Amaro is 6-foot-5, 265. He ran 4.6-flat at his pre-draft Pro Day.

(Then when mini camp started, and the CS actually got to see him, things seemed to go downhill)
Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini does not see second-year TE Jace Amaro as a "60-catch tight end."
Cimini has been underwhelmed by Amaro at practice, saying he needs to cut down on his drops and play with more urgency. Cimini said in May he thought Amaro "could make a nice leap forward" in his second season, but minicamp must have changed his mind. Amaro turned 38 receptions into 345 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie year.

Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
The Jets will use second-year TE Jace Amaro as an H-back.
Jeff Cumberland projects to fill in as the traditional inline tight end. Amaro has the athleticism to move around the formation and make plays with the ball in his hands. But he'll need to show in camp that he's corrected his drops issue that plagued him as a rookie. If so, Amaro has a chance to catch 50-60 passes in OC Chan Gailey's spread. Amaro hurt his back at OTAs and missed minicamp.

Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
Jace Amaro is listed as the Jets' third-team tight end on their initial training camp depth chart.
He's behind starter Jeff Cumberland and blocking specialist Kellen Davis. Amaro wasn't impressive in the spring, according to onlookers, and we haven't read anything noteworthy about him since camp opened. It's not a good start to Amaro's sophomore campaign, but he has plenty of time to climb the ranks. Cumberland and Davis don't have the pass-catching upside of Amaro.
Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini said second-year tight end Jace Amaro is "on the hot seat."
Cimini added that Amaro has "a lot to prove after a so-so rookie season." Unfortunately there isn't much Amaro can do to improve his stock while he's out with a sprained shoulder. Red flags were raised a few weeks ago when Amaro was listed as the third-string tight end on the Jets' preseason depth chart.

Jace Amaro - TE - Jets
Jets TE Jace Amaro's recovery from a sprained shoulder is going slower than expected.
"Every day it’s been getting better. It’s just a really slow process," said Amaro. "It’s just frustrating. I just want to get out there and be able to play." Originally expected back for the regular season opener, it now appears Amaro could miss regular season games.

To my knowledge Amaro's injury was not severe enough to require surgery. It is very odd he was given a full season IR if they had hope he would contribute this year. it is odder still that as exciting as this season has been, and as tight as this team seems to be the guy hasn't shown up in the building..........At all. While other IR'ed players are He's learning a new position, H-back . you would think he would be in to watch film at least, to talk to the TE's coach to help learnhis new position.
have a feeling he is going to fall in the Geno Smith category. Player with some natural talent, who won't be back if some one offers anything.
Time will tell
