What are your expectations right now for the 2022 season?

Our record next season depends mostly on Wilson. After looking at the schedule (which seems to be a pretty tall order), it's hard to see how the team comes out of it 10-7 or anything close to that. But maybe I'm just conditioned to see it that way from last season.

Jets over 5.5 wins is the most popular team overs bet by a wide margin. Hopefully we go over 5.5 by a wide margin then.

I think 10-7 is the ceiling for this team, and it would be achievable only if the Jets stay healthy across the board and Zach takes a big leap forward.

I’m anticipating some injuries, and Zach progressing in year two. I think this would yield a record somewhere near 8-9. But a four game jump from 4-13 is progress, as much as we don’t like to celebrate mediocrity.

Wilson having a Darnold-like 2nd season is worth 2 more wins...at least. 2 or more of the first four draft picks proving themselves, reduced injuries verifiable FA upgrades, 3 more wins...this is just on paper.

Off paper, Wilson really needs to improve on the short passing game. That'll severely reduce the effects of blitzing. Maybe Breece Hall can be a part of that as he caught 36 passes last season.

In the Miami game last year, improved short passing probably would've won the game. ... perhaps Carolina also.

Are Jet fans so traumatized that they can’t allow themselves to believe what is staring them in the face . This team is completely different from anything we have ever seen . The vast majority of this team is young, comes from winning programs or were the best players on programs that didn’t win . It was assembled by people who had a plan and orchestrated it almost to perfection.

our RB's accounted for a lot of dropped passes, and Zach didn't help matters much by alligator arming a lot of throws. having said that, Zach was lights out in the short passing game at BYU.

i bet his "yips" are a thing of the past.

Maybe the NFL game slowed down for him. I did see BYU footage where he was nailing the short throws. But I thought he was off last season on shorter throws. ... and we're both kind of saying the same thing.

My worry at the moment with Zach (As I hope it has changed), was his "routine " passes that go awry, then once in awhile he'll make a HOF circus throw for a TD. Keep the consistency with the progressions, Z. Fluidity wins games.

Jet receivers made little to no above average to highlight reel catches for him.
Jet backs and receivers dropped a lot of passes.
On medium to long throws, #2 had to get it there, and overthinking was not an option.
On the shorter throws, he seemed unsure about them.

my thought is that he was essentially thinking about the best way to "place" the ball in their hands as opposed to just giving them a chance to make a grab... he got much better after the Miami game.

if (a.) your receivers drop a lot, and (b.) you don't have any expectations of them making a good to great play on your throws, then you naturally do the unnatural act of placing instead of letting them make a play.

here's the cool thing about him... tell me when he complained? tell me when he didn't put it all on his shoulders.

I will not only agree to your premise, but I'll go one step further. Zach nor Sam Darnold could not have been more professional. Sam, as a kid, an athlete to which most have needed egos, never said boo when trashed by the fans, the N.Y. media, etc. was a gem. I still wish him all the luck in the world except if he ever played against us.

I haven’t been able to let my hair down in 15 years. Male pattern baldness.

But your point is well taken.

Jets hate is seriously on a different level. CBS takes EVERY opportunity they can to bash the Jets. Just look at this.

Mr Bust himself saying he’s doesn’t believe in Zach Wilson. Doesn’t see more than 5 wins. Thinks the Jets will be searching for a new QB in 2023. I guess it doesn’t matter that the Jets look to be one of the most improved teams in the league, especially on offense.

Keep being you, Brady Quinn.

it's almost as if they simply cannot read, or had their heads buried underneath a boulder, because a rock would let some info trickle in.

the Jets, with improvements in the Secondary and DLine, will not be the horrid Defense they were for a stretch last season.
the Jets, with improvements on the Oline, at WR, at RB, and especially at TE will not have to cultivate 15 play drives to get a FG.

i just refuse to listen to the naysayers. they just haven't paid any attention.

At the end of the first month of the regular season I can guarantee you the Jets are going to be a talking point in the NFL circles and Zack Wilson will be the reason.

to the chagrin of Quinn's stance, i see BALT, PITT, CLEV, and CINCY as all winnable games.
* we have a GM, HC, DC, OC, and QB in place.
* we have a second year with main players in place in the same system.
* we added more plug and play players on top of said main players so their learning curve is smoother than other teams.

if we get thru the 1st 4 games with a 3-1 or 4-0 record, you're exactly correct, we will be the talk of the NFL.
don't hold your breath on Zach getting credit; they will say in spite of him.

Ditto. The only one that scares me is Baltimore and that’s only because of the unconventional nature of their offense.

quinn gave jet fans a hot take because he knows how active the base is on social media.. that & it never gets old to shit on the jets regardless of the current state of affairs.. lazy "look at me" bullshit at wilson's expense..

the story was guaranteed clicks & coverage..
