report free agent Brian Hoyer will indeed sign with the Texans.
Hoyer had a last-minute flirtation with the Jets, but his best option for playing time was in a system he already knows under Bill O'Brien in Houston, where Hoyer will only have to beat out Ryan Mallett and Tom Savage to start.

Fitzpatrick, anyone?

Hopefully the Jets are full throttle on the CB market right now.

Re-signing Bilal was a top priority for #Jets . When Bowles was hired, Powell was one of the 1st players he called to introduce himself to

sounds like this regime will actually use him
Good news IMO I like him.

Couldn't agree more. I could really see Duke Johnson the target with his ability to catch passes out of the backfield. VERY similar player to Spiller except Duke isn't afraid to stick his nose in there. He likes to play football and won't shy from contact in pass pro.

duke johnson was definitely a guy i was thinking of...largely based on your prior posts on him

Good riddance I would rather see Mallett or Savage in green and white.

but neither are available. in all likelihood, fitzpatrick is the one who hits the street, not mallett (who they are expected to sign) or savage (who they drafted last year).

now i'm fine with fitz as a hold the fort guy and was somewhat indifferent on hoyer. but don't expect hoyer going to the texans to result in one of the younger QBs shaking free.

With Hoyer and Mallett, the Texans are expected to cut Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Jets will be waiting. #nyj

Brian Hoyer's move to Texans will clear the path for Jets to land Ryan Fitzpatrick, who's at top of their list now twitter.com

Going into today, Jets had $37.7M in cap space (counting RFA tenders), per ESPN. Will clear $10.5M once Harvin cut becomes official. #nyj
