The combine concludes tomorrow with the linebackers and defensive backs on display

Then another two week or so deathly lull until the beginning of NFL free agency on March 10.

At least we had some good football stuff to clean away the filth of a Cheat SB win****

im with you...if we go pass rusher rd 1 (Fowler, Gregory, and Beasely) then im down for Perriman or Beckham rd 2....or Rollins CB (or another CB). I think the sexy pick would be White WR WVU...but still wouldnt be shocked if OLB is the call at 6 even with White on the board...

How about some love for Bud Dupree. 6'4, 269 and ran a 4.57 forty with a 42" vertical. Those are some serious "wow" numbers. And, oh ya, managed 23.5 career sacks while playing in the SEC on a bad team. I'm not saying I like him more than Beasley, I don't, but the dude has to be in the mix if TB likes size with his OLB.

If we end up trading down, he'd be one of my targets.

I don't like to toot my own horn, but, beep beep :)

Everyone loves Kevin White now, after he blew up the combines (and now we'll be lucky to get him at #6), but I was touting White in the draft forum back when most people were still under the impression that Amari Cooper was the only WR in this draft worthy of a TOP 6 Pick. The folks who post in that forum will recall I was heavily promoting White for the Jets at #6 . In fact this was my first mock draft at JF back in January, but I'll only post the first 6 Picks:

NOTE: Rams trade up to #5, Redskins secure Rams 10th and 41st Overall Picks.

01. BUCS - Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
02. TITANS - Randy Gregory, DE/OLB, Nebraska
03. JAGUARS - Leonard Williams, DL, USC
04. RAIDERS - Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama
05. RAMS - Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
06. JETS - Kevin White, WR, West Virginia

Everyones talking about Vic Beasley, and rightfully so, he was a lot bigger than anyone anticipated and he tested well at 246, but don't sleep on Alvin "Bud" Dupree, the SEC's sacks leader the past few years. He is the perfect size for 3-4 RUSH OLB, more so than Beasley, Fowler and Ray, because he's 6' 4" which is ideal, while those guys are a couple of inches shy of the ideal, and he's the ideal weight too (about 265+), and guess what, he ran in the 4.5's too!

If what I'm hearing is accurate, he made a terrific showing overall. Don't be surprised if he's a TOP 10 Pick.

I want this guy and Bryce Petty in the 2nd round. These two would be a great Duo for years to come!

I called him a 6'3 sammy watkins on our thread on our old board but only said he'd be the only other WR to go in the top 10. I think deep down he's the guy I want us to take. I think he canbe our Julio Jones/Dez Bryant, so I want him more than any other player at #6 at this point I think....but I wont be too disappointed if we come away with Beasely, Gregory, or Fowler. I'll groan a little bit, but be pretty excited about a young edge rusher.

I think this is 100% true. I think the #2 pick is on the clock:

Jameis Winston - QB - Player
After attending the Combine, CBS Sports' Dane Brugler "couldn't find one person I trust" inside the league who believes the Bucs will pass on Florida State QB Jameis Winston at No. 1 overall.
In other words, the consensus opinion is Winston will be the Bucs' pick. In terms of on-field skills, Winston checks virtually every box NFL teams seek in a pro-ready pocket passer. He is naturally accurate with a strong arm and can make anticipation throws. Oregon's Marcus Mariota is a better spreadsheet athlete, but Winston is the better quarterback at this stage.

What about Cooper, Super?

If the Raiders take White, there's a pretty good chance that means Cooper will slide to us.

After watching Winston and Mariota in the mock, I can definitely see the draft going this way. Mariota made it very hard on everyone now who needs a QB. All teams in need of a QB are thinking they have to trade up past the Jets to get him now because if they don't the Jets will draft Mariota. White and Cooper helped themselves greatly also (more so White then Cooper). Winston just solidified that he should go number one. I would be ecstatic if we can get White or Cooper at this point because getting either QB won't happen unless we trade up.

Team that could trade ahead of us for White (redskins would be a good team for them to target, because skins can trade down and still get a top 3-4 OLB):

Will Browns draft elite WR prospect?

Aside from the handful of moments when Josh Gordon was actually on the field and performing well, the Cleveland Browns used a ragtag group of wide receivers in 2014. They had several chances to stake a claim to one of the myriad impact receivers in the 2014 draft, but they didn't take one with any of their six picks.

ESPNCleveland.com's Tony Grossi expects Browns general manager Ray Farmer to target a wide receiver in the first round this year, but the team may not be in position to get the cream of the crop.

"They surely have to use one of their two first-round selections [Nos. 12 and 19] this year on a wideout," wrote Grossi.

"The problem is that [Amari Cooper] and [Kevin White], in particular, were so impressive at the combine that they could both be scooped up before the Browns’ turn at No. 12.

"Oakland (No. 4), the Jets (No. 6) and even the Giants (No. 9) could take receivers. And the Vikings (No. 11) might be inclined to reunite [Devante Parker] with his former quarterback at Louisville, Teddy Bridgewater.

"So even if Farmer is willing to use his first pick on a receiver, there’s no guarantee that one of the top three will be left for him."

Parker's stock may have risen over the weekend, but in ESPN NFL Insider Mel Kiper Jr.'s pre-combine mock draft, he had the Browns taking the Louisville star at No. 12:

Mel Kiper Jr.
Kiper: 2015 NFL Mock Draft 2.0
"I've said before the Browns had one of the strangest, yet really good drafts in recent memory with their 2014 class. They have a total question mark when it comes to their first two picks (Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manziel), but not only did they add an extra first-round pick for 2015, they nailed pretty much every pick beyond that first round. What they didn't do was get a high-upside talent at wide receiver, and Parker has as high a ceiling as you can find in this class. He can beat defenders to the ball with his size, leaping ability and catch radius, and he's underrated as a threat to add yards after the catch on short throws. With Josh Gordon potentially done in Cleveland -- at a minimum he's gone for 2015 -- Parker looks like a no-brainer here."

From Tony Pauline

It was bandied about the internet the New York Jets spent a significant amount of time with Philip Dorsett. I can confirm this to be true. Besides the Jets the other team who has taking a liking to the speedy wide out are the Green Bay Packers.

and..even more interesting

Getting back to the New York Jets, I spoke with a league insiders about the teams free agency plans. I was told the Jets intend to be big players in the free agent market, specifically on defense. I’m told they will target outside linebackers and cornerbacks as big ticket items. They evidently will look for younger, taller corners. Potential free agents who fit the mold include Davon House, Chris Culliver and someone familiar to the teams new general manager Bob Maccagnan, Kareem Jackson. I’m told they will look to add depth on the defensive line and hope to add a mid-value guard, someone that won’t cost a lot of money. When asked if the Jets would go after Mike Iupati the response was, “the present belief around the league is they won’t spend $8 million for Iupati.”

Several things I noticed from watching the Combines. I hope Marshall QB / Auburn is trying out @ CB today because he sucks @ QB. Anyone wanting Hundley UCLA will be bummed out, he could not hit the broad side of a barn. Another epic fail was Sims / Tide who was also terrible.

On the bright side, I did not realize how big Bryce Petty QB / Baylor was. He looked like a late 1st round talent to me.

And the 2 stars of the Combines were Jameis Winston QB / FL.ST & Kevin White WR / WVU. IMO it looks like Winston will go #1 to the Bucs no question. And unless Mariota falls to us @ 6, we will go Cooper WR or White depending on who the Raiders pick.

I think the Jets best move would be to cut Harvin and draft Cooper or White. Percy is not worth 10.5 million and he's not a true #1 WR to compliment Decker, plus he's injury prone and his attitude is always risky. Cooper or White are true #1 WR's who are younger, faster, healthier & cheaper than Harvin. We passed on getting Watkins or Beckham last year, we need Cooper or White @ #6 .

I agree I think unless Harvin drastically cuts pay..he is gone....and he might be gone first anyway because of 4th rd pick.. we also missed out on Jordon Mathews and Benjamin last year..and Cooks...

Wont be shocked if teams try to trade ahead of us for White now. I could see Cooper and White gone by our pick. I could see Cleveland and the Vikings trying to get ahead of us to land White. Replacing Gordon with White or giving Bridgewater White has got be to getting the Browns and Vikings very excited, and Washington and/or jags can drop to 11 or 12 and still get a pass rushing specialist (Fowler, Ray, or Beasely)...
