I don't know exactly who you're responding to. You just said yup cut him close to 10 times. I never said cut him, in fact if you read my post directly above this post you would know that. But your assertion that he had greatness and just needs more coaching, I disagree with. And by your logic of come from behind wins, Sanchez should still be our starter.

It's only my opinion based on what I've seen, and as I said he has the opportunity to prove me wrong.
The point of this board is not to over dramatize people with different opinions but to post and have rebuttals.

where does it say that is the point of the board? Can you send me the link so I can read the instructions for how to post?

Well its a basic principle of conversation. I respect your opinions, and I don't have any need to make you think I'm right.
I understand the point you are making with the stats posted, but I don't think they make your argument.
Listen there could be hundreds of great qb's that never had enough good coaching and so we don't know about them, but that's reality in the nfl. Sometimes it's the guys who get it faster that get recognized. Geno is going into his third year, he has had very good games and very good plays. So far, it's fair to say, he gets you excited 25%of the time is blah 50%of the time, and is down right heart breaking 25%of the time.

My opinion comes from the basics I've observed, not from looking for stats to make my case. He has talent, but he also is worse than 50/50 making the correct adjustments at the line, holds the ball forever, and stares down receivers.
He also has a Cannon, can be accurate, and can miss by a mile (could be argued miscommunication which is easily fixed).

The bottom line is he's going into his third season having shown more bad than good, and with no one thinking he's even the next Vick. If he doesn't step up this year, the league will think of him as a project at best, and he will lose much needed first team reps.

He had Marty for two years, who was successful coaching fast runner big arm Vick, and now Gailey who had coached up all types of qb's.

Isn't this a dee Milner thread? I hope dee is healthy and is able to focus on the positives and get his legs back. It would be a shame if he's one of those guys who can't get past the injury bug.
And in Dees first full healthy season, he's playing along the guy he was drafted to replace.

it's really awesome how you manage to ruin so many different jets boards with your constant douchery

Man, some of you guy's are real negative, not only about Milliner, but everything about the Jets. I know and feel things are turning around for the Jets and I'm excited; however, some of you guy's bring me down with your negativity. Here are a few things to feel good about:
1) The team MOJO is back. With Fireman Ed coming back to lead the J E T S>Jets..Jets...Jets...
2) When Revis is introduced coming out of the tunnel.
3) Good addition of Marshall @ WR & maybe Cooper.
4) Cro-Daddy is back & the Browns hated to lose Skeens.
5) Geno has competition with a Harvard Grad who rarely makes mistakes, will also help Geno progress. I still think Geno is our starter.
6) We have numerous CB's & safeties, which should help Milliner & McDougle recover 100%.
7) Great new GM, & Coach Bowles & crew.
8) Solid RB's & FB (T-Bo)
9) Steller DL & OLB @ 6 ? Or Eli Harold OLB @ 37 ?
10) We own the 6,37 & 70 picks in the first 3 rounds. See how easy that is to think of 10 good things ?

Go Jets....Cyborg

Good post Cy...

I think we are all excited about the offseason progression and look for a rebound year for the Jets. The points you stated are true. Its just that everyone is playing spring/summer armchair coach/GM... which we all like to do
I think its safe to say everyone is on board looking for a great season..... This has been the most exciting offseason for us that I can remember.....

If he sits for a year, it will be like missing 2 years of football; I don't think he will be the same player. Let him compete once the foot heals.

To think you used to be a mod. Can you post without attacking posters? Do we have mods on this board or is this JI 2.0?

Well said, and I even agree with the percentage breakdowns. I still have hope that Gaily can transition a more mature Geno in year 3 to a 25% outstanding, 50% good, and 25 % bad (every QB has bad games). Im siding optimistic, but your points are justified.

Also, you're right, this is a Milliner thread. From what Mac said, they dont expect him ready for week 1, which is too bad because he needs OTAs and training camp to learn the new defense and responsibilities. Meetings rooms are one thing but live reps is another. I think the Jets take their time with him. Hopefully he can be 100% and have the system down by week 5. At least the Jets made moves to not count on him and ease his transition back into the line-up. Watching him against GB last year it was painfully obvious he was not 100%, IMO.

Starting to feel like the record is skipping, Dees rookie year he was injured, badly needed reps, and we were trying to get him game ready by opening day.

I hope Dee can succeed but I have no hope for him. Talent was there but he is brittle.

Just an observation on how great Milliner was playing before he was injured. According to Pro Football-Reference, of all the horrible CB's the Jets put out there last year, Milliner was tied with Kyle Wilson as the worst of all of them with an AV rating of 1.0

Agreed. This is his 3rd off season, his 3 off season where the focus is rehab and not improving, and the third season he's coming into injured. This seems to match his scouting report when we drafted him, which also said he never really missed any games at bama despite 5 surgeries (pretty sure he only missed 1 game).

I think we just have to live with this is the player we drafted, one that's always hurt, and if he ever isn't hurt heading into the season, its going to be an anomaly.

Great post Cy....nice to start seeing signs of Jet fans united again in support of their front office, coaching staff and players after all the toxic divisiveness and internecine negativity of the past 4 years
i see what you did there..
