I guess we'll find out. I guess why we'll find out why the Jets offered a backup worth 4 mill, 9 mill. While having geno on the roster and having to carry 4qbs.
I guess we'll find out why geno didn't take over when Fitz had to play in a cast.
I guess we'll find out why geno's rookie contract is set to expire, and we haven't locked him up yet. Maybe we'll find out why not one team asked to trade for geno when other qbs were signing for 18 mill. Getting geno at 1 mill and a future franchise qb would have been a great deal.

You make some fair points there and I am not saying - nor have I ever said - that I am sure that Geno is going to be a franchise QB. I am only saying that I genuinely believe that he showed enough signs of real improvement the second half of Year 2 that it would behoove the Jets to see whether the light might actually have gone on for him - especially now that he did have a year to sit and learn, and would have much better weapons and a much better OC than he had before. People seem so unreasonably certain that he can never be better than what he showed through his first two seasons, and I don't understand that thinking. To me, Fitzpatrick is a safer choice, which is why I support bringing him back for the right price (< $10M), but Geno has a vastly higher ceiling, especially with the ability to throw the deep ball.
