There was never any agreement. He was traded because he wanted a new deal. It was common knowledge. Douglas assumed he would play out his final year, but with zero guaranteed for injury,he would be stupid to play.
Should show up and not participate.
This has been floated a few times and honestly I think this would be best case scenario. If Reddick insists on getting $28M+ annual on a long term deal, he can just sit out the season and make ZERO

Hard to believe anything Conner says. It was him who reported that Riddick had agreed to play out his contract with the Jets which led to all the hate and the fan base wanting him to honor the agreement.
Then he reported the Jets assumed he would play out his contract. Now his third version...
They just add the fines to the new contract...
Not sure the teams would be so fast to do that, unless you read it. This is a fine instituted by the league, not the team.
They all do it. Just like they used to rescind the fines.
I think JD did negotiate before the trade. But the negotiations were verbal. Some people can't be held to their word.
That said, this sux. I want to see Reddick on the field. But the team can't be afraid to move on if he's playing hardball. Reddick has more to lose by not showing up.
The Jets have 52 mil or so in dead money this season. They could extend Reddick on aback-loaded contract. But if I were JD, I'm not sure I'd want to do that at this point.
