I understand people want to kill Geno at every chance they get. I get it, I originally wanted Geno gone myself this year. Here's the issue and I've said it a thousand times, unless we draft Winston or trade for Breez or Rivers, we may very well be stuck with Geno as our starter for at least this year. Drafting Mariota may get Geno off the field game one but I doubt that seriously because he is just as green as Geno was coming out of college. So one would assume he may need some time to develop aswell. Drafting any other QB not named Winston or Mariota I don't think they can beat out Geno either. Now I don't know this for a fact and I'm not God, its just my opinion.I can't blame you for having blind faith, but it is blind faith. There is simply nothing to base it on because Geno, with all this "talent" you believe he has, has never done a single thing to show it, and no one pass or one single play doesn't prove he can play. The fact is regardless of how bad the team or coaching have been, Geno has proved he doesn't belong in the NFL.
As far as Fitz goes, I'll let you guys that's in his corner believe he will be the day one starter because I don't see that either. We all seem to forget that QBs generally get it in their third year. That's where Geno is approaching. He also played with horrible teams and under horrible coaching and management. I don't think any rational person can debate that also. With all this said, Geno just might be able to get it together this year with a much better team and much better coaching. Now all of this can be a pipe dream on my part I will admit but the fact is, we may be stuck with Geno as the starter this year regardless. As far as him never showing any signs of being a legit QB that is not true because his first year, he had the best QB rating of anyone not named Manning his last four games. He also played well in spot games here and there.
