Agree with all of this. Colon's arm is made of rubber... 100 pitches... 200 pitches, he could care less.
Give him the ball in the 9th. Familia has thrown a lot of pitches these last couple of games.
Need a blow-out win tomorrow... give Familia some rest and let one of the new guys close it out.

Better and better

Mets are now only 1/2 game behind the Dodgers in the race for second best division winning record in the NL behind the Cardinals

And Hollyweird has to play a bunch of games against SF and SD AND three vs the Pirates in the final stretch while, the Mets have two series with the Gnats, one with the Pinstripers at Citifield and the rest a steady diet of bottom dwellers playing out the string

Winning that race gives the Mets home field advantage in the best of five NLDS

Well now we at least know who Matz will be replacing in the rotation when it matters

And, no, it won't be Bart

6-0...

Not so fast

Couple clutch hits and a 2 run bomb by Yoenis

6-4

On further review

Terry decided to piss away all chances by bringing in gas cans Parnell, O'Flaherty and Torres to ignite a huge Phils blaze

The Cardinals came back from a 4-0 deficit to thump the Gnats last night so despite the Mets assblasting by the Phils (thanks Terry for Parnell, O'Flaherty and Torres--AKA the three bullpen gasoline cans---) the lead remains at 6 1/2 and the magic number is down to......

Mets have been thin of quality @ #25 .... It was either Don Hahn with the '73 Mets or Bobby Bonilla; and I know evryone here would like to forget that( even though he continues to get paid $1 million/yr. by the Mets until 2025)

You could go with Calvin Pryor....after a Louisville Slugger is an excellent bat..

But that would be wrong, I guess

Booz, when all else fails, go with a guy that won a ring.

View attachment 1244

I was thinking of him,but wanted to exercise the "old timer's" memory. I was 10 that year.
Great season... A's just too tough that yr. Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers and Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Campinares, Tenence, Bando.
We almost had them! At that time the Mets won the division with an 82-79 record and went on to the WS.

We might be in the same situation this yr... Probably Worst record of Division winner(Unless we keep ahead of LA
