Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold or a different QB?

BIG STEPS hopefully. This team has talent to work with. What it needs most is a head coach that can get that talent to show up for each and every game and for the whole game. We do need to fill some spots and that will be in the hands of the new GM. But we don't NEED for Rogers to be the guy under center. There's one thing that Woody and Joe and Saleh overlooked when they decided to bring Rogers here...............his play was already going downhill. Remember the friction in the Green Bay camp at the time over who the starting QB should be and the tension between Rogers and some of the coaching staff and you will probably come to the same conclusion that I have and that's the fact that the Jets should have seen this coming. Yes, Bigmoe, I'm disappointed too. I was in hopes that his play would be at least good enough to make the team competitive but it seems he needs more help than our offense can provide. On to the new regime I guess.

I would love for Woody to see that I noticed his lack of good judgement with the Rogers deal. Half the trouble with this team is that nobody has the gall to tell him that his interference in team decisions is what is handicapping it's chances of success. To answer your question.......I love Rex's personality and he has a decent defensive mind, but, I don't want him as head coach. I don't think his approach to managing players is going to work with this group. They've been mishandled for so long that it's going to require a special type of personality to get them to function at the level they are capable of. They need a coach with a dictator mindset. One that practices my way or the highway. Of all the available candidates I believe that Mike Vrabel fits that definition best. They might have to over pay to get him but hey, they over paid in the past and this one might very well be worth it.
Can't be any worse.
This generation needs a Bill Parcells type of coach.
Is he looking for a head coaching job ? I don't think he's being considered, but, I get your point.
If I didn’t say it before or if I did, I’ll say it again. Aaron Rodgers stats this year wasn’t bad at all. They were actually pretty damn good (compared to any Jets QB we’re had since Vinny Testerverde). So with that being said, how in the hell did it all fall apart?
For starters, A-Rod stats might have been pretty good but his attitude and demeanor stinks to high heavens. He’s not and never have been a leader and the fact that he’s lost ALOT of his talent, he can’t carry a team anymore. The Jets as a whole fell apart itself. Besides A-Rod performance!
Last year and the year before, the defense was stout and the running game was on point. This year that all fell apart also. Then you have the coaching. You put A-Rod stats on the year before or the past 3 years, team and the Jets win 11-12 games.
So he gave us what he could but it’s time to move on. What a horrible freaking season this was, SMDH!

Agree/disagree but last years team, if we put up the points we did this season, it's a 10 win team! We lost several games this year because we couldn't hit a damn FG to save our lives, and throw into that how many 4th quarter leads we gave up to lose games (historical)!!!
Ulbrich was not ready to be a HC and Woody shit the best and cost us the season. No the team didn't come out the gate blazing and setting records, and there should have NEVER been any expectation that that was even possible. The owner and his kids are the damn problem! Doesn't matter who is on the field and who is coaching, those guys will always meddle and finds ways to completely screw things up.

Sounds to me like you’re also saying he should have NEVER fired Saleh. Exactly my thoughts!
It was a knee jerk idiotic move! Cemented the fact that Woody has no clue what he is doing and the team was better off when he was completely away from it!
We went from an Offense that needed to get on the same page (but had talent), to an entire team that was lost and had no clue what they were doing!!!

Saleh is better than Ulbrich. Salah still sucked as a HC. Both can be true.
No argument from me, but Ulbrich turned every team strength into a weakness! Makes you think, Saleh was a better coach than everyone was willing to give him credit for.

NO, Saleh didn’t suck as a HC, he just didn’t have a quality QB his first couple of seasons here. Then this year, Aaron just wasn’t Aaron or even close his first 4-5 games here. Woody didn’t give Saleh a chance to mold this thing all together and see where they landed. Sometimes things just takes time to happen, it doesn’t always happen immediately.
Now, I will admit that there record may have not been much better as a result but I doubt SERIOUSLY it would have been 5-12. Let’s say 8-9 or 9-8, is that fair? If that’s fair and that would have been the case. If you’re still saying he should have gotten fired then so be it. But at least he would have had the rest of the year for us to find out and he would have then been legitimately fired!
